Description
Reaching out into the Pacific Ocean along the southwest coast, Aguila Osa Inn was once described by National Geographic as one of “the most biologically intense places on earth.” It is an open airy inn that is set on a hillside with sweeping views of the Aguitas river and Drake Bay. The unique and exotic flora and fauna engulf the inn giving it a feeling of seclusion and privacy. The inn boasts a newly remodeled open-air restaurant and quiet balconies that overlook the ocean. It is the perfect place to lie on a hammock and enjoy the sounds of Costa Rica’s most biologically diverse and beautiful destination. |

Commitment to Sustainability
Aguila de Osa Inn has always looked at the local community of Aguitas at Drake’s Bay. Bradd Johnson, the owner of Aguila de Osa, has become one of the leaders of the community by organizing events, transport for the community in the event of an emergency, and worked to expand the school system that supports children up through high school. Bradd has also worked to have a health clinic with a rotating resident doctor living at the clinic for a year at a time. Aguila de Osa started a recycling program for the community in Drake’s Bay by collecting all of the recyclables on a weekly basis then transports the material to the town of Sierpe an eventually back to San Jose. |
Location
Aguila de Osa is accessible only by boat because of the lack of roads but is surprisingly easy to get to. Located on Drake’s Bay on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula it is a short flight from San Jose to Palmar Sur. There the Inn is happy to arrange a boat down the beautiful Sierpe River and across Drake’s Bay to the Inn.
