Community and Rainforest Education

D1 Arrive to Costa Rica and transfer to Finca Rosa Blanca Country Inn. Walk the grounds of the Inn and talk to the owners on all of the projects they have going on. Enjoy a great dinner at the Inn. Overnight at Finca Rosa Blanca

D2 After breakfast go on a full day horseback riding tour of the Barva Volcano and the Braulio Carrillo National Park. Soak in the pool and Jacuzzi after the tour. Overnight at Finca Rosa Blanca

D3 Transfer to Selva Verde Lodge after breakfast. Go on a guided hike through primary rainforest and learn about the many uses the jungle see a variety of animals including the poison dart frog. Overnight at Selva Verde Lodge.

D4 Enjoy a half day a rafting tour on the Rio Sarapíquí on either a gentile Class 1 and 2 paddle or more challenging Class 3 and 4 rapids. Stop by the Sarapíquí Conservation Learning Center and talk to the director on how tourism is helping the local community with jobs, education, and micro-enterprise.

D5 Transfer to Selva Bananito Lodge after breakfast. Go for a tour on horseback around the vast farm with a local guide. You can also climb a tree using ropes and ascenders.

D6 After breakfast go on a strenuous all day locally guided hike to an 80-foot waterfall and rappel down it if you feel adventurous enough. The guide will explain about all of the different microclimates and you will learn about the ecology of the rainforest.

D7 Transfer to Vista del Valle after breakfast. Explore the plantation and take a side trip to the village of El Rosario to see some of the community development projects Vista del Valle has done and talk to the people in a rural Costa Rican village.

D8 Transfer to the international airport and back to your home of residence.
